About this track
Hub City Dragway was a quarter-mile asphalt track in Hattiesburg at about 280 feet elevation, running IHRA ET bracket racing on Saturdays with test and tune on Friday and Sunday.
It is permanently closed. We confirmed this directly on 12 September 2026, in a reply from one of the numbers published for the track: the track is closed and the land has been sold. Asked when, the reply was “years ago”. That is a permanent closure, not a pause, and it happened long enough back that the listings still showing it as open have been wrong for a considerable time.
The public record already pointed that way. Google Maps lists the business as permanently closed. Of the four phone numbers published across various listings, two were disconnected, one rang through to voicemail, and the fourth is the one that replied. The most recent social media activity we could find dates to late 2024, and one national track directory had already listed it as closed.
The reason this is worth stating plainly: the track's own website is still online, its Yelp listing was updated in 2026, and its Facebook page still carries 971 reviews. Anyone searching for it would reasonably conclude it is still racing. It is not, and the land it sat on is no longer in racing use.
